When traveling to Mexico there are important considerations to keep in mind. In order to make your trip as relaxing and stress-free as possible it is wise to acquaint yourself with local requirements, rules, and customs to avoid any unnecessary delays or problems while on vacation.
The following is a list of things to help you plan a trip to Mexico.
Communications in Mexico are fast becoming as user friendly as in the U.S. or Canada, depending on where you are staying. Our Villas provide the communications you would expect from a luxury vacation rental. Whether you are in Puerto Vallarta for business or pleasure, you will be able to communicate within and outside of Mexico.
Internet: Many of the Villas now have internet service or you can arrange to have it for your stay. PLEASE CHECK WITH US IN ADVANCE to avoid confusion when you arrive.
Another great option are the many Internet Cafes, which are inexpensive and easy to use. There are many – we recommend the following:
Telephone: When calling Mexico from the US or Canada you will need to use the prefix "011-52". The country code for Mexico is “52” the area code for Pto. Vallarta is “322” and then you dial the normal 7 digit telephone number.
Cell Phone Users: Check with your cell phone service before you leave as many have options for service in Mexico. Note some cell phones will work in Pto. Vallarta, however if you call a local tel # you will be charged as if you are calling from the USA.
Long Distance: Most rental properties do not offer long distance tel service. You can use you personal calling card or purchase long distance calling cards from many shops. As well most of the Net Cafes offer long distance calling service.
