The Dalai Lama visits Mexico September 9th 10th & 11th of this year. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be in Monterrey, Mexico to give the keynote address at the International Conference on Human Values and the Rule of Law on September 9th. He then travels to Mexico City for 2 more events, the most impressive being an event on September 11th, hosted by Richard Gere, well known actor and human activist, which is open to the public and free admittance.

This talk on “Finding Happiness in Troubled Times” is being held in the massive soccer stadium called “Estadio Azul” and will be a popular event. The Dalai Lama is not your typical celebrity but he you will be impressed to learn that he is a master of popular social networks and you can follow him no Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Just as many other public figures and celebrities use social networks to spread information and their beliefs.

While his Holiness the Dalai Lama is actually the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, his role is more global in spreading a belief in basic human values and happiness as well as the fostering of inter-religious harmony. He strives to promote these beliefs thru many public talks, his various activities and widespread international visits and publications. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is coming to Mexico in September of this year. This will be his third visit to Mexico. The 3rd International Conference on Human Values and Rule of Law will be held in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, on September 9th, when His Holiness will give the keynote address on “Building Harmony Through Altruism and Compassion.” For more information, please visit emv2011.org.

The next two events will be held in Mexico City. On September 10th, His Holiness will give a daylong teaching on Geshe Langri Thangpa’s 'Eight Verses of Training the Mind building Harmony Through Altruism and Compassion' at the Teatro Metropolitan.

Just prior to his visit to Mexico, His Holiness is scheduled to give the keynote address at the Second Global Conference on World’s Religions After 9/11 at the Palais des Congrès Convention Center in Montreal, Canada.

The Dalai Lama frequently states that his life is guided by three major commitments: the promotion of basic human values or secular ethics in the interest of human happiness, the fostering of inter-religious harmony and the welfare of the Tibetan people, focusing on the survival of their identity, culture and religion.
