Anyone who travels anywhere likes to know “What are the things not to be missed” or Must do in that destination. You know you cannot do and see everything so you want the knowledge of experience to guide you. However you want recommendations not tainted by some sort of commission or personal financial gain, someone who just wants you to have a wonderful time.

It has been a long time since I experienced Puerto Vallarta as a visitor or tourist, but I talk to tourists all the time (my clients) and I always ask they what was their favorite tour, activity, food, restaurant etc. So that I can be knowledgeable when making recommendations to visitors. Recently my most critical audience came to visit – my family – my brother, his wife and 2 teenage children. Gaak was my first thought, worst of all they were coming to Puerto Vallarta after a 5 day visit to Disneyland – also known as the happiest place on earth! Now that was very strong competition for any global destination. Also it was the first time in Puerto Vallarta so I had to be sure they had a great visit and made wonderful memories.

After much thought the 2 activities I suggested were those that I get the most positive comments and feedback about – the Los Veranos Canopy tours. and the Rhythms of the Night with Vallarta Adventures, both fantastic options but still to compete against The happiest place on earth (aka Disneyland) is a tall order.

I am pleased to say that both got rave reviews and everyone was very impressed with the level of professionalism, safety more than impressed they were blown away.

Also while Disneyland THPOE is obviously pretty wonderful, the entire family loved the relaxed atmosphere of Puerto Vallarta and the people. I was lucky enough to find them a great beachfront vacation rental condo on “The Beach” Los Muertos so they were close to everything. If they wanted to do something it was almost at their doorstep, if not they lounged on their terrace and enjoyed the view – ocean and world class people watching! It was after all Los Muertos Beach so there was a constant parade of vendors, musicians, they had a full on show from a mariachi group one evening and of course the people.

Their other 2 favorite things were when I took them to one of the few remaining Mexican Markets for produce in the downtown area – the Mercado Emiliano Zapata. It was a great experience. We also walked the Malecon and watched the flying dancers of Papantla the first time for me. Hey it was free and no line ups, but it was also very impressive .

So I am happy to report Puerto Vallarta was a great success and may be called the most relaxing place on earth ……….
